Saturday, November 24th is national “Small Business Saturday.” This campaign was designed by American Express to generate business to small independent merchants – and we know how important it is to shop locally!So get out and there and shop! And spread the word too! Encourage your friends and family to shop locally! Not only are you getting a jump on your Christmas shopping, you are helping our local economy! Really, it’s a win/win situation. The City of Boston is also offering free metered spots on Small Business Saturday too! Time to digest this! The 2nd Annual “Kickoff 4 Kids” Girls Flag Football Tourney is hours away! The 16 teams are set, the shirts are awesome and the field is ready. Kickoff is Saturday 10:45am. We’ll be using 2 Pop Warner fields throughout the day. If you’re not a player please come by with family and friends to cheer on and support this worthy cause. This annual holiday event has been named in loving memory of our neighbor, young Colin McGrath. Head to the Supper Club at Capo this weekend and dance off Thanksgiving! On Friday it’s live music with Vincent King on Saturday night it’s Almost Owen. Keep the weekend going on Sunday night with Sinatra Sundays! Coppersmith is kickign off Friday with live music from Adam Hanna from 5-8 followed by DJ Frixx 9pm-1am.

Put on your Santa hat, lace up those sneakers and get ready to run for a great local school – South Boston Catholic Academy. On Saturday, December 1st at 9am join your friends and neighbors and run a 5K race along the South Boston beaches. Start and finish is at South Boston Catholic Academy at 866 East Broadway.Stick around for a post-race party with prizes, raffles, food and fun! There is also fun for the kids on deck too with two youth races. At 9:00am – 100 Meter Dash for kids (9 and under) and at 9:30 a 1/2 mile run (14 and under). If you preregister by November 30th, it’s $30. Post-registration is $35. Youth preregistration is is $15 and post-registration is $20. To register visit here!
