Eat:
After much anticipation, Backyard Betty’s will open its doors on Friday, May 18th at 170 W. Broadway! Inspired by nostalgic, Americana culture a in a refined retro setting, the 5,300 sq ft restaurant will serve up classic comfort food from Executive Chef, Jeff Howe featuring items like grilled oysters, hush puppies ,½ spit roasted chicken, steak tips, and Nashville hot fried chicken. Sip on Backyard Porch Sweet Tea or homemade Sangria by the pitcher. Betty’s opens for dinner at 4pm.

Drink:
Head to the Lawn on D and raise your glass! It’s the annual Del’s On D event! There will be a Del’s cart sampling Del’s lemonade and Gansett lawn games and giveaways. Narragansett will have a promo team and tent onsite to showcase their new brewery in Pawtucket, plus there will be live music from Rhode Island’s own SILVERTEETH! Sponsored by Narragansett Beer.  This event takes place on Friday, May 18th from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm.

Feast:
Come eat, sip, plan and explore at the epic gastronomic experience and culinary completion. 16 of New England’s most talented chefs to vie for the title of Lamb Jam Champion! The main event takes place on Sunday, May 20th from 3pm-6pm enjoy food and drink as bartenders, winemakers, brewers and culinary artisans will be on hand to create the perfect afternoon. If you’re more of a VIP – take advantage of the VIP ticket for the ultimate experience. The additional hour will feature East Boast Oysters – can you say oysters & caviar on Sweet Cheeks biscuits! Brunch:
Fat Baby kicks off their brunch service this weekend! Both Saturday and Sunday from 11am-3pm enjoy Baby’s First Brunch featuring items like rotating donuts, cheesy ramen, Szechuan dumplings, Korean fried chicken and waffle, and brunch bao. Frosé will be flowing like….well…wine! Talk about perfect!

Shop:
Spring is the perfect time to spruce up your surroundings and spring is the perfect time for a new home furnishings and accessories shop to open in Southie! Deirfiúr Home is a welcomed addition to East Broadway and will offer everything from sofas and chairs, to unique home accessories like pillows, artwork, pottery, rugs and unique gift items. Think cool picture frames, books, glassware and candles! Stop by and check it out!

See:
On Friday, May 18th at 9pm a “pyrotechnics show” (fireworks) will take place off of the JFK Library. These fireworks are part of a private event but who’s gonna stop you from watching? The show will last approximately 20 minutes.

Do:
Pitch in! It’s the City of Boston Neighborhood Clean Up in Southie on Saturday, May 19th. Be prepared to clean up community gardens, parks, schools, sidewalks and public spaces. To volunteer email our neighborhood liaison [email protected]

Dance:
Kick it old school Southie-style at Seapoint. Revisit the good old days and enjoy Southie DJ legend Dru Errico as he spins the tunes at Seapoint Saturday night beginning at 8pm. Plan on dancing the night away to such local favorites like Happy Radio and Young Hearts Run Free!No cover charge. Plenty of parking!

Watch:
Did you hear, the Royal Wedding is happening this weekend! Publico is celebrating the royal nuptials with boozy tea cocktails and tea sandwiches from 4-5 pm! They’ll be replaying the wedding on the big screens in the Garden!

Workout:
Eastside Yoga and Motivated Fitness are joining forces to bring you a an action packed hour-long workout! Featuring a 1-hour-long spin and yoga sculpt class! 30 minutes of each = strength, speed and flow combined in one class guaranteed to make you sweat! Bring a towel, mat and water. All levels are welcome. Class is limited to 10 people. Pay $20 cash on-site.  Sign up online to secure your spot. Class takes place at Regan’s Motivated Fitness at 315 West Broadway in South Boston. Cheer:
Root for the Celtics as they face the Cavaliers for Game 3 on Saturday at 8:30pm. Kings Dinging and Entertainment in the Seaport is game-watching headquarters featuring plenty of
HDTVs and projection screens with full game volume and best-in-industry sound; scratch-kitchen will be serving game-day favorites: pizzas, burgers, wings, nachos; giant mugs for its wide variety of draft beers; bowling; billiards; air hockey; shuffleboard; and more. Beware:
Traffic alert! The 17th Annual Harpoon 5-Miler to benefit The Angel Fund for ALS research is on Sunday May 20th at 10:00am. Expect delays on Summer Street, and around Pleasure Bay between 10am and 11am. The race starts at the Harpoon Brewery in the Seaport district and runs over the Summer Street Bridge to East 1st Street, to Farragut to East Broadway to Day Blvd, to Shore Road and back via East 1st Street.East 1st Street and Summer Street between Drydock Ave and East 1st Street will be closed.
