School Supply Drive

Jake Harrison  – a Southie resident and senior at Boston Latin School – has organized a school supply drive.  Just because students will be working remotely doesn’t mean school supplies aren’t needed.  You can drop off school supplies like notebooks, pencils, pens, even puzzles and board games to Evans Field (next to Murphy Skating Rink) on Sunday from 10am-1pm.

Shopping in Seaport

Black Owned Bos. is a platform to highlight and lift local Black owned businesses, places, spaces and the people moving the culture forward.  Shop their outdoor market in the Seaport neighborhood this weekend. You can reserve your safe and socially distanced shopping spot from 12:00pm-6:00pm here.

Boston Lights: A lantern experience at Franklin Park Zoo

The Franklin Park Zoo is about to get lit! Advance online tickets are required for this journey through over 50 displays featuring hundreds of beautifully crafted lanterns at Franklin Park Zoo, opening August 21st!  You can get your tickets here! 

New Food Truck in Town

Longtime South End chef Evan Deluty from Stella has ventured into the food truck biz! Stella Express is now parked at 150 West Broadway (at B Street) beginning on Tuesday, August 18th.  It features a menu of breakfast sandwiches, salads, Italian dishes, chocolate mousse and more! Yum!

Shore Leave Pops Up with The Life Raft

Ryan Lotz and the team behind Shore Leave is thrilled to launch their seasonal outdoor tiki pop-up, The Life Raft. Located at the entrance to 345 Harrison Avenue, The Life Raft offers cocktail favorites from the Shore Leave menu, canned beverages and a selection of snacks from Chef Colin Lynch. The Life Raft is open Thursday’s from 5pm – 10pm, Friday’s from 5pm – 11pm, Saturday’s from 1pm – 11pm and Sunday’s from 1pm – 10pm. Cocktail highlights include: Life Raft Shooters: a rotating selection of 4 shots for you and your crew, Dressed Up Claw: Mango White Claw with a tajin rim and blanco tequila and A Drink in Every Port: tropical sipper for troubled times. guyanese rum, italian amaro, lime, passionfruit, demerara! Let’s go! 

Braid Bar

Stop by House of Ivy this weekend and get your hair braided! They’ll be hosting a braid bar outside their shop on Saturday from 9am-4pm.  Just $10 for perfect beachy braids.  Money goes directly to the staff! Venmo is the preferred payment method for contactless payment but cash envelopes are also availalbe.

In this pandemic world of reinvention, The Rockland Trust Bank Pavilion has transformed from a concert venue into Harborlights Bar Cafe! This new spot will be open to all ages beginning August 13th on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays through October for parties of up to 5 guests. The socially distanced seating plan with views of Boston Harbor offers seating on the concourse as well as under the open-air VIP tent, making it one of the only outdoor restaurants that can keep guests dry in the rain. The food menu will feature freshly baked pizza from Regina Pizzeria, lobster rolls from Legal Sea Foods, and individually packaged appetizers and sandwiches Gourmet Caterers. The drink menu features Night Shift Brewing, as well as a variety of local craft beers and domestic favorites, alongside an assortment of seltzers, wine, frozen drinks and cordials.
