Be informed!  Get involved.  On Monday, October 2nd, Mayor Marty Walsh will be hosting a special City Hall Open House in Southie!  Learn more about city initiatives in the neighborhood while you enjoy food from Capo!  Reps from various city departments include Boston Planning and Development Agency, the Boston Transportation Department, the Public Works Department, the Parks and Recreation Department, Boston Public Schools will be on hand to answer any questions you might have.  This event will take place at the Tynan School from 6-8pm.

Purchase a ticket! Brunch Battle at District Hall! Participate in some good old fashioned eating and drinking as local brunch hot spots duke it out for the coveted title of Brunch Champion on Saturday, October 7th at 12noon!  Gather, The Living Room, Brownstone, The Langham, Hops N Scotch and Row 34 will be sampling some of their best brunch items and you get to eat them and then vote for your favorite! Proceeds from this battle will benefit Community Servings, a local nonprofit that provides meals to individuals & families who are homebound with an acute life-threatening illness. Southie Turns Pink for the Ellie Fund! Some South Boston businesses are joining forces for the Ellie Fund’s Do Good campaign.  Be on the lookout for “pink” specials, deals, drinks, shopping and fitness classes throughout our neighborhood for the month of October. A portion of the sales will be donated directly to the Ellie Fund – a local non-profit dedicated to providing critical services including nutritional and grocery assistance, transportation to medical appointments, childcare, housekeeping and prepared/deliver meals to breast cancer patients and their families.
