Coffee Talk!  Mayor Marty Walsh will be in Southie Tuesday, May 10th at 9:30am at Medal of Honor/M Street Park.  Come hear what the mayor has to say and ask questions, suggest ideas, and have a good ole heart to heart with the mayor.  Dunkin Donuts coffee will be provided….hmmmm….no Starbucks?

Play Ball! Tryouts for the 2016 Senior Babe Ruth Baseball team will begin on Sunday May 15th and Monday May 16th at 5pm at King Field at Moakley Park. Additional tryouts will continue Friday May 20th and Sunday May 22nd also at 5pm at King Field. Any young men and women who turned 16 years old before May 1st of this year through those that turned 19 after Dec 31st of last year are eligible to play. The team is a member of the South Shore Sr Babe Ruth League and plays a 14 game schedule – 7 Home and 7 Away throughout the month of June and early July with playoffs that follow. The team is also in need of a few volunteers to help coach at practices and some games throughout the summer. Anyone interested could contact team GM Buddy Lane at 617-269-1091 or just come down to one of the above listed tryout dates.

Fore! Register this week for the annual South Boston Catholic Academy Golf Tournament! This fun event takes place on Monday, June 13th at Granite Links in Quincy, MA and begins at 7am with coffee, bagels and registration followed by a shotgun start at 8am. Price is $200. The South Boston Firefighters & the Massachusetts General Hospital Medical Intensive Care Unit will be hosting a blood drive at the K Street Firehouse (700 East Fourth Street) on Saturday, May 14th from 11:30am-4:30pm.
