Donate! Be a part of the community and help pitch in!  Mass Bay Credit Union is holding a Toiletry Drive to benefit Rosie’s Place, a local women’s shelter.  The charitable drive, which lasts through the end of May, will help benefit those women and moms in need.  Drop off boxes will be located at their South Boston headquarters at 147 West 4th Street, in addition to their branches in Everett, Quincy and the Seaport.  Bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, brushes/combs, chapstick are being accepted.  Both full and travel size are appreciated.  Last day for donations is May 31st.

Coffee talk!  Mayor Marty Walsh will be at A Street Park in Fort Point on Tuesday, May 23rd at 9:30am.  The mayor will be there to chat and answer questions.  Free coffee and everyone will get a free plant!  Sweet!

Be informed.  Get involved.  An important community meeting will take place at the Mather School on May 23rd at 5:30pm.  BuildBPS is coming out to listen to our concerns about our local South Boston Schools. Here is our chance to come together and voice what our community wants! We deserve a local High School. Please help us in supporting a feeder school option! Where all of our South Boston Schools will feed into Excel High School. We could ensure consistency and sustain a sense of belonging for all of our students. They deserve to remain in an environment that they have grown in and are familiar with, keeping our students together will affirm their success. Please help spread the word. Members from the Mayors office along with members from Superintendents Office will be there! Lets rally together to make a huge difference in our local school choice! Please come out and show your support!

There is nothing more exiting than hunting through a shop filled with merchandise in search of “it.” Maybe your “it” can be a pair of gently worn Louboutins or is your “it” is a gorgeous pale pink Chloe dress.  But it’s the unknown that lurks in the racks that keep us coming back for more.  Southie have three amazing consignment boutiques; Dew Luxe, Covet and Closet Connection – chock-full of women’s clothing and accessories just ripe for the picking. Stop by this week and pick yourself up something cute to wear to your Memorial Day get together!
