Get running! This new running club is wildly popular and it’s free and open to the public! Meet your friends and neighbors on Mondays at 6pm at start and finish at Stephi’s in Southie – 130 Dorchester Ave.  After come back for an ice cold frosty beer or a cocktail and enjoy complimentary appetizers at Stephi’s.

Canines and Cocktails! The Seaport Hotel is welcoming summer with an exciting Canines & Cocktails event on Wednesday, June15th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Southie resident Kennedy Elsey of Mix 104.1 and her dog, Elvis will be part of the celebration to benefit Great Dog Rescue of New England! Awaiting the pups at Canines & Cocktails will be organic, homemade dog treats by Seaport’s Executive Chef Richard Rayment, special “doggie bags” with treats to take home and plenty of water. For their human companions, a chance to relax and socialize over a cocktail (cash bar) with fellow doggie devotees, as well as the opportunity to enter to win exciting raffle items, such as an overnight stay at the Seaport Hotel! All money raised will benefit the Great Dog Rescue of New England. Dogs of all sizes are welcome and the event is weather dependent.  Tickets are $10 and can be purchased  at eventbrite! 

Turn the Wheel!  Help Turn the Wheel!  On Wednesday June 15th from 7pm to 10pm the Annual Turning the Wheel Fundraiser will take place at the Taj Boston and celebrating their 25th Anniversary.   This event will help Medicine Wheel move forward on their goals to support their current and future programs!  Medicine Wheel will be honoring their artistic director Michael Dowling!  Tickets are $250 and can be purchased here!  Medicine Wheel is also is selling bricks for  No Man’s Land! By purchasing a brick for just $50, you will help support youth employment from our community and helping pave a way for a better future for these kids.  Your brick will be engraved and placed in the path at No Man’s Land.

Sip and Shop!  The Boston Athletic Club is hosting a special pop up shop on Wednesday, June 15th from 4pm-7pm at the Bar @BSC.  Featuring boutique yoga apparel and accessories, fresh smoothie samples and DoTerra Essential Oils (life changing!) and a cash bar!  If you are a member of the BAC, enjoy a pre pop up chakra yoga class with Terry Walsh from 4pm-5:15pm.  To reserve a spot for class email [email protected]  Pop Up Shop is open to all!

Eat Lobster!  It’s National Lobster Day on Wednesday, June 15th!  We say celebrate all week at Sullivan’s Castle Island!  Shake up your Sully’s order and try the lobster roll!   The lobster roll is packed with fresh lobster meat and served on a grilled roll for just $12.95.   While you’re there, you might as well add some handmade onion rings to your order too.  You’ll thank us later!

Beer Garden on the Bricks! City Hall Plaza will host a good old fashion beer garden this week!  Mayor Marty Walsh is kicking off the summer season in style!  We’ll drink to that!  This fun summertime event will take place on Wednesday, June 15th from 5pm-7:30pm.  For more information visit here!

Southie Traffic Warning! DCR is warning residents that Sunday through Thursday during the hours of 7:30 pm and 5:00 am there will be a traffic advisory for Day Boulevard and Old Colony for paving work. Traffic patterns will be marked and there will be a police detail provided.

Buck-a-Shuck! The warm weather has finally rolled into our neighborhood which means it’s totally outdoor oyster season. And everyone knows oysters taste that much better when they’re only a dollar  Here are top picks for $1 oysters this summer!
