I’m on a boat! Dream of warmer weather and go see The New England Boat show at the Boston Convention Center. Spend the day looking at boats, yachts, schooners, and nautical displays galore. If your wealthy enough to purchase one, good for you!  If your like the rest of us, you can spend the day dreaming of the one you’ll buy when you hit the Power Ball. Margaritas, tacos, shopping and the art of calligraphy!  We can’t think of a better way to spend a Tuesday night!  Dunlovely Events presents EXTRACURRICULAR: Pointed Pen 101 – a calligraphy workshop taught by Alaina of Extras by Alaina. Get yourself gorgeous for a great cause! The Beauty Bar (699 East Broadway) opens its doors to help raise funds for South Boston Catholic Academy on Wednesday February 17th at 6:30pm.  Complete with wine, light bites, and a raffle, this evening of beauty will be the perfect excuse to gather up the ladies and help support a great neighborhood school.  Call 617-268-2800 to book your appointment, for blowouts, straightening, curling, facial waxing, extensions consultations, botox/filler consultations and injections, or just come up to unwind with a glass of wine and check out the Beauty Bar – maybe escape the kids, it is February vacation after all!
The Beauty Bar will be donating 10% of the event’s services back to SBCA, and will donate an additional 20% off all future services booked that evening, so if you’ve been looking to treat yourself this is the perfect excuse!  And if you can’t make it by you can still help out South Boston Catholic Academy.  For the month of February the Beauty Bar will be selling raffle tickets for their Favorite Things Basket (worth over $200), all proceeds to benefit SBCA.

Be informed! While driving along Day Boulevard, have you noticed the tides and thought, “Gheesh, that seems really high?”  Well, FEMA will be hosting informational session on the newly released flood maps every Thursday from 2pm-4pm at the South Boston Public Library.  They’ll will be explaining what the new flood maps mean.  Hmmmm…maybe we will have waterfront property soon….
