Get out there and shop! If you survive Black Friday and still have some shopping left in you, then head out to the streets of Southie on Saturday.   Saturday, November 29th is national “Small Business Saturday.” This campaign was designed by American Express to generate business to small independent merchants – and we know how important it is to shop locally! Spread the word too!  Encourage your friends and family to shop locally! Not only are you getting a jump on your Christmas shopping, you are helping our local economy!  Really, it’s a win/win situation.

Help our neighbors have a great Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful for what you have and the perfect time to help those who are less fortunate.  The long standing South Boston tradition of the Thanksgiving Dinner at St. Monica’s church is being served from 11:30-1:30.  If you would like to come for a delicious dinner at St. Monica’s Hall (at the corner of Prebble and Old Colony Ave) just bring your appetite.  If you can’t leave your home and would like a meal delivered, give St. Monica’s a call at 617-268-1230 or 617-590-9922.  Want to volunteer to help cook turkeys, make pick ups, deliveries, serve meals, set-up and clean-up – call 617-268-1230 or 617-590-9922. This neighborhood event is hosted by The South Boston Catholic Parishes and our Southie elected officials.
