Tune it up!  In celebration of National Bike Month, the Boston Cyclist Union will at the the South Boston Farmers Market on Monday from 3pm-6pm.  Bring your bike and they will repair and give it a tune up for free!  

Calling all vendors!  In preparation for the 16th Annual South Boston Street Festival in September, The South Boston Neighborhood Development Corp. and the South Boston Chamber of Commerce are recruiting vendors , local artists, craft-makers, non-profit organization and businesses for the annual event that takes place on September 19th.  If interested, contact Karen at Vibrant Events at 617-990-7062 or visit www.sbndc.org/street-festival  Application deadline is August 7th.

Mix and mingle! The Nick Collins Committee is hosting a SummerTIME on Tuesday, June 16th from 6pm-8pm at Lincoln Tavern  – 425 West Broadway.  Suggested donation is $25, $50 and $100.  Stop by and show your support! 

Meet the authors!  Best-selling authors Dave Wedge and Casey Sherman will appear at the South Boston Library – 646 East Broadway –  on Thursday, June 18 at 6:30 p.m. to talk about their new book, “Boston Strong: A City’s Triumph Over Tragedy,” based on the marathon bombings.  Mix and mingle at The Playwright – 658   at 7:30 p.m. for a fundraiser to benefit Massachusetts Fallen Heroes. 

Play ball! Local Southie sixth grader Brian Miller is looking for recruits to play in “Wifflethon” on Thursday, June 18th at 3pm in the South Boston Catholic Academy schoolyard.  As part of the Wifflethon – there will be wiffleball games and even wiffle haircuts all to help raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Research.  Also on deck, a braiding station so you hair braided with a signature teal ribbon to show your support!  So come on, Southie – let’s rally and help Brian with his Wifflethon! School of Rock!  Register your kids for an adventurous day camp right here in Southie.  Rock Spot Climbing is offering week-long day camps and half day camps backed with climbing, activities and lots of fun!  This camp is offered to kids ages 6 and older and will open to all ability levels.  The camp schedule begins on Monday, June 22nd through August.  Full day camp hours are 9am to 4pm and half days are 9am to 1pm.  Cost is $315 per week.
