Calling all Southie yogis! On Wednesday, July 29th from 6:30-8:00 pm, escape the heat and head to the shore for a sunset yoga class on H Street Beach. All proceeds will be donated to the Last Call Foundation, an organization dedicated to enhancing the safety of the Boston firefighting community. Be sure to bring a beach towel or your mat, and get ready to move your asana for a great cause! Suggested donation: $10

Dancing under the stars! Grab your beach chair and head to the L St. Bathhouse this Thursday night!  Enjoy the musical stylings of Southie’s favorite cover band, Thomas Park.  They’ll be playing live from 6:30pm-9pm at the Curley  Rec’s Family Friendly Beach at M Street.  Back some snacks and some drinks (non-alcoholic) and enjoy a night of entertaining music and dancing under the stars.  This event is free and family-friendly!   UPDATE:  THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED!

Enjoy a night of wine, food and fun!  Comedian Patty Ross and friends will be on stage and getting the crowd going on Thursday, July 30th at 6pm at a special event to help support The Paraclete’s student summer program. This fun-filled evening features comedy, wine, food and fun at The Boston Winery and Venezia restaurant on the water in Dorchester.  Enjoy a tour and tasting at Boston Winery at 6pm and after a quick walk to Venezia, dine on a delicious 3-course Italian meal as you watch the comedy show at 7pm.  The Paraclete Academy serves Boston youth by enriching young lives through education in the out of school hours. Funding from this event will help support the Paraclete summer program which includes rowing in the harbor, academic enrichment classes and a week of learning on World Ocean School’s historical Roseway schooner.  Tickets are $75 for wine tasting, dinner and show.  $50 for just dinner and show.   You can purchase tickets online at www.paraclete.org  Contact Eileen DeMichele 781-812-7099 with any questions.

Bring out your inner super hero!  Bust out your masks and capes and head to the Seaport World Trade Center this week.  Boston Comic Con is in town from July 31st through August 2nd.  Tickets start at $30 and you can meet the likes of comic book legend Stan Lee,  Billie Piper aka Brona Croft from Penny Dreadful, and Robin Lord Taylor – “Oswald Cobblepot” from Fox’s Gotham and many more.  There will be also be an art auction, a costume parade, a special comedy night at Laugh Boston featuring Judah Friedlander from 30 Rock and lots of surprises.  For more information visit www.bostoncomiccon.com
