Be informed.  Get involved.  Mark your calendar.  Planet Southie will host a community meeting  at the Condon School on Tuesday, August 20th from 6pm-7pm.  The subject of the meeting is proposed bike lanes in South Boston along East and West Broadway. 

Sip a cocktail by the sea and help support one of Southie’s newest organizations.  South Boston Leadership Initiative is hosting their first fundraiser on Thursday, August 22nd at the Harry McDonough Sailing Program at Castle Island from 6pm-10pm.  The SBLI’s mission is to offer opportunities to kids int he community so they reach their educational and professional goals through workshops, programming and a strong network of dedicated volunteers.  Stop by and show your support!  Suggested donation is $20. 

Ollipalooza!  The South Boston Neighborhood House along with Boston Rocks presents an afternoon of family fun on Thursday, August 22nd from 3pm to 7pm at Moakley Park (behind South Boston Neighborhood House’s Early Education Center).  Enjoy races and games, literacy activities and story circles, face painting and crafts, food, refreshments, music, dancing and more!
