Southie Bikes wants you to join in on the fun! Take a casual bicycle ride around the neighborhood with special guest Nicole Freedman, Director of Boston Bikes on Wednesday, May 29th at 6:30pm. Nicole will give you the inside scoop for bicycle lanes that may be in the works for Southie residents. You can also share your thoughts about where you’d like to see improvements in the bicycle lane department. Cyclists of all abilities are encouraged to attend. Please keep in mind that we’ll be sharing the road with other vehicles. Helmets are mandatory. Meet at the municipal parking lot at 455 West Broadway.
Mix is up at Social Wines. Do you love blends? Always looking for that perfect mix of Cab-Merlot, or a fruity white blend? Join Social Wines (52 West Broadway) and the winemakers at Mill River Winery of the North Shore as we explore blended wines on Wednesday, May 22nd at 7pm. During this 90-minute event you’ll learn about Mill River and hear how winemakers create great blends. You’ll be able to jump in and blend samples of your own! Cost is $25. Give away your kicks! Run Littlefoot, an organization that brings donated footer to homeless and low-income families in Boston, now has donation bin at the Running Emporium (341 West Broadway) in South Boston. So when you pick up a new pair of sneakers, you can donate your old ones knowing that all the shoes will go to those in need locally. Be on the lookout in June for a new Kickstarter project to raise funds for the Boston Giving Truck – a mobile donation and shoe distribution vehicle. We’ll keep you posted!
Row, row, row, your boat! Boston Rowing Center on Sleeper Street wants you to experience Boston Harbor in a fun, safe and healthy adventure. You get to try it out for three times for free, and if you absolutely love it you can join the Boston Rowing Center for $200 a year. This includes a membership to the Hull Lifesaving Museum and helps fund their youth programs. Make sure to wear weather appropriate clothing which can include : Hat or other sun protection Extra layers, remember it can be a little cooler on the water. Do you enjoy the whole experience of SoWa Open markets? Well, good news! Greenway Open Market launches its season this Saturday, May 25th from 11am to 5pm. More than 50 artists, crafters and food trucks at the Rose Kennedy Greenway’s Wharf District Parks. ?? ?
