How much do you know about the War of 1812? South Boston Historical Society President Bob Allison will be giving a lecture on the reasons why we should care about the War of 1812. All you history buffs should head to the South Boston Public Library (646 East Broadway) on Monday, Octobers 1st at 6:30pm. This event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served.
American Provisions is holding a community meeting at the Tynan School on Wednesday, October 3rd at 7pm to make a proposal for a license to sell craft beer and small batch artisan wine. Be informed. Get involved. Let your voice be heard. The following Wednesday, October 10th, the Playwrite will be making a proposal to extended their hours to 2am. This meeting will also be held a the Tynan School at 7pm.

Hoop-la! Sign-up your boys and girls for the Gatey CYO Basketball! Registration takes place on Thursday October 4th from 6:00-7:30 and Thursday, October 11th from 6:00-7:30pm
at the Walsh Center/Pal Gym. The fee is still $30 each/$50 per family.? South Boston Youth Hockey is holding sign-ups for Mite and Squirt House League as well as the Learn to Skate program all this week from 5pm-8pm at the Murphy Skating Rink.

Where is the walsh center? I want to sign my son up for basketball and this place is impossible to find on google.
The Walsh Center is next to the Java House on East Broadway. It’s behind the Court House.
