Save the date.  The Fall Shop and Style Event.  Shop at Habit, Ku de Ta and the Closet Connection.  Enjoy special discounts, fall stylings tips and sip cocktails provided by Double Cross Vodka.  Nurture is hosting a hair braiding bar and Wolfie’s is the perfect spot to unwind post shopping.  This stylish event takes place Wednesday, September 26th from 6pm-9pm. 

Mix and Mingle.  New Southie Thursdays is getting together Thursday, September 13th at Wolfie’s (81 L Street).  Starting at 9pm, come meet up with your New Southie friends, and maybe meet some new ones.  Come out for South Boston’s Gay Night. 

Festival of fun – South Boston Street Festival.  The forecast for Saturday looks perfect to browse and shop amidst 100 local merchants, artists, and organizations along East Broadway from L to I streets.  There will also be live entertainment on two stages including Southie’s favorite band Thomas Park and The Peggy Woods School of Irish Dance.  The festival kicks off at 11am and Mix 104.1’s Kennedy will be your emcee for the day.  For more information go to www.southbostonstreetfestival.com. 

Drivers, start your engines.  It’s the Annual Boston Police Athletic League Grand Prix on Saturday, September 15th.  Watch as the Southie waterfront transforms into a Formula 1 racetrack on Seaport Boulevard between Northern Ave. and Wharf Road.  It’s a four hour team endurance race to benefit the youth programs of the Boston Police Athletic League.  For more information or to register a team, got to wwww.bostonpal.org. 

If you forget my death, then I died in vain.  Come remember a group of fallen heros at the Thirty-first anniversary of the South Boston Vietnam Memorial.  On Sunday, September 16th the day begins with a memorial Mass at ST. Brigid’s Church at 10:30am followed by the rededication ceremony at Medal of Honor Park at 11:30am.  Guest Speaker will be General Joseph F. Dunford, Assistant Commandant Us Marine Corps.  We hope you can attend this special day.
