Hugs for Heroes. Social Wines (52 West Broadway) is getting in the Fourth of July Spirit. They will be donating 20% of the proceeds from Cisco 12 pack sales to Hugs for Heroes – a non-profit that sends care packages to our troops overseas. Now that’s patriotic!
In the spirit of of America’s 236th birthday and Boston’s Bicentennial celebration of the War of 1812, The New England Warrior Benefit gala happens on July 3rd. This fundraising event will be hosted at the Seaport World Trade Center and will raise money for five major nonprofits which support families of wounded and fallen Special Operations warriors. www.newarriorbenefit.org. A special online auction of custom-branded DIRICO Motorcycles, each themed to represent a different branch of the Special Forces, is being conducted as well at http://newarriorbenefit.org/motorcycle-auction/. This event will be produced by the legendary event planner Bryan Rafanelli and includes cocktails and dinner. Tickets are $1000.
Get your fill of the 1812 Overture as the US Coast Guard Band plays in concert on City Hall Plaza from 2pm-3:15 on Wednesday, July 4th. What’s more patriotic than that?
Well, maybe The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular! The fun begins at 8pm on WBZ Channel 4 with an all-star lineup. The Shield’s Michael Chiklis, Jennifer Hudson, and Keith Lockhart will take center stage along with the Boston Pops Orchestra. 10:30 the fireworks begin! God Bless America!
