Relay for Life. On Monday, May 14, 2012 at 7:00-8:00pm?come learn about Relay For Life of Boston at the L (Curley Community Center – M Street Senior Lunch Room). This yearly event is held at Moakley Park on June 15-16, 2012 where funds are raised to fight cancer and remember loves ones?lost to the disease. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the?event and discuss what Relay means to the South Boston community.
Hotel, motel, Holiday Inn. Southie’s elected officials invite you to an informational meeting about legislation required for hotel development around the Boston Convention Center and South Boston. This meeting takes place on Thursday, May 17th at the Condon School (200 D Street) at 6:30pm.
Pitch in! Senator Jack Hart along wit the DCR will be cleaning up the beaches on Saturday, March 19th at 9am. Meet up with other South Boston residents at the Murphy Skating Rink grab a rake or a trash bag and help clean up Pleasure Bay Beaches. “If everyone works together, our beaches will be pristine and ready for summer fun, ” says Hart. So be a good neighbor and help pitch in!
