For the Week of March 5th

Sharpen those skates and help support a great cause.  On Monday, March 5th Joe “Dodo” Nee and Edso Foley will be hosting a very special night for Southie Special Kids at the annual Frog Pond Skate.  Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Quencher Tavern.  All proceeds go directly Southie Special Kids.  Transportation to the Frog Pond will be provided and leaving from the Quencher (170 I Street) at 6:45 pm. 

It’s Super Tuesday! Don’t forget to vote.  The presidential primary election will be held on Tuesday, March 6th.  Also, State Representative Nick Collins is running for 1st Suffolk State Committeeman on a sticker campaign. The polls will be open from 7am to 8pm.  Be informed. Get involved. 

Drink and donate.  Join Rock Bottom Boston (115 Stuart Street) for the Fire Chief Ale Tapping on Tuesday, March 6th at 7pm. Taste the Fire Chief Ale and enjoy passed samples of seasonal menu items.  Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation will be on hand collecting donations and a portion of the proceeds from each Fire Chief sold through April 15th will be donated to the Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation.

Swim faster.  As part of the South Boston Citizens Association Events, a swim meet will be held at the South Boston Boys and Girls Club pool.  This event is for children ages 7 to 14.  The meet begins at 5:30.  For more information call 617-268-4301.

Wearing o’ the green.  Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, Ku de Ta (663 East Broadway) has festive shamrock green Blings.  Show your irish pride with a little touch of glamour and sparkle in your ears. Jo Jo Blings are $20 for small and $30 for large.
