You think your kids misbehave? You haven’t seen the Bad Seed yet. The South Boston Public Library will be showing the 1956 American horror classic starring Patty McCormack on Tuesday, January 17th at 1pm. You’ll never look at tap shoes the same again.
Who says barber shops are just for the boys? Local hair stylist, Angela Lograsso, has a chair at her father’s barber shop Lograsso’s at the corner of L and East Second Street. Looking for a parking spot? Some new parking regulations have been implemented by the Boston Transportation Department creating up 70 new parking spaces on East First Street. Two Hour Visitor Parking Resident Permit Exempt signs will begin at M Street and continuing on to the existing regulations at the basketball courts. In addition, Resident Parking 6pm-10am Monday through Friday will go into effect on East First from M to L Street. Keep your eyes posted on the signs. The city will be issuing tickets beginning on Tuesday, January 17th.
Jab, jab, hook. Looking to show off your mad skills in the boxing ring? Well, now’s your chance. Beginning Monday, January 16th at 3pm, you can tryout to participate in the South Boston Citizens’ Association Boxing Show Friday, March 9th at 7pm. Tryouts will take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday afternoons at Peter Welch’s Gym (371 Dorchester Ave.) For information and tryout times call 617-269-4641
Be a good neighbor. Help support the South Boston Boys and Girls Club at the 2nd Annual Winter Benefit presented by the South Boston Boys and Girls Club Alumni Council. This event takes place Friday, January 20th at 7pm at the Cornerstone Restaurant (16 West Broadway). Tickets are $20 in advance. $25 at the door.
