Digging South Boston – uncovering Southie history. Believe it or not the city of Boston has an archeologist – Joe Bagely and Joe will be at the South Boston Public Library (646 East Broadway) on Monday at 6:30pm to discuss the rich history of Southie! The South Boston Historical Society will be co-sponsoring this free event and topics of discussion will include Castle Island and Dorchester Heights, and also Southie as an industrial center and glass manufacturing hub. We have a feeling lots of fun facts and tidbits will be unearthed at this interesting lecture. So make a plan to learn a little Southie history – you never know when it will come in handy.
Teach the children well. The Paraclete Foundation Annual Reception happens Wednesday, February 26th at 6:30pm at BC High. This year the Paraclete will honor Mount Washington Bank’s Ed Merritt. This ain’t your Nana’s Bingo! Gather up the girls, slips on your high heels and go play some Bingo!
