Forget the bobsled in Sochi! It’s all about Math Olympics right here in Southie! The South Boston Leadership Initiative is proud to announce the Math Olympics for students in grades 4-8 beginning Tuesday February 4, 2014, and lasting for a total of twelve weeks. Groups of students will meet for one hour per week and be divided into two sessions (grades 4-6 and 7-8). For more information visit: https://caughtinsouthie.com/feature/math-olympics
Mix it up! If you like to go out with friends, meet new people and help out a good cause, then Social Southie is for you! Come join Social Southie on Tuesday, February 4th at 6:30pm at Stephi’s in Southie (11 West Broadway). Come help support the South Boston Stars – a South Boston youth basketball league associated with the AAU. The goal is to help raise funds to help with the costs of tournament fees, practice rentals, and the AAU membership. Have a drink, some apps, and enter to win some great raffle prizes. Sip+Share with Wonder Women of Boston. Limited to 8 people, attendees have an opportunity meet and get to know one another, share what they are working on, and brainstorm new ideas. The next meeting is on Saturday, February 15th from 9:30am-11:30am at Cafe Argeggio (398 West Broadway). Book Sale at the South Boston Public Library. Come support our local library by purchasing a book or two. All funds raised from the sale go directly to special programs and services at the South Boston Branch. This month’s sale is on Saturday, February 8th from 10am to 3pm. Have some books you’d like to donate? You can drop them off during businesses hours the library’s front desk.
