Calling all kids! Just in time for Halloween!  Bringing Up Baby (665 East Broadway), Southie’s newest children’s boutique, is offering a fun arts and crafts project for kids.  Stop by on Monday, October 28th from 11am-1pm and Tuesday, October 29th from 3pm to 4:30pm and kids get to make their own pumpkin mask to take home!  ?

Be informed.  Get involved.  A debate will be held on Monday, October 28th from 6pm-7pm featuring candidates for City Council District 2, Councilor Bill Linehan and Suzanne Lee.  The forum will be moderated by Michael Dowling, Artistic Director of Medicine Wheel Productions, President of the South Boston Association of Non-Profits and long-time South Boston resident.  Refreshments will be served at 5:30 with the debate beginning promptly at 6pm.  This forum is presented by Fort Point, West Broadway, Saint Vincent Lower End and Dorchester Heights Neighborhood Associations.  Southie Shuttle will pick up and drop off at Barlow’s and Bee’s Knees. Residents participating in the Mayoral debate with Professor Glaeser at 7pm will be picked up at the Lithuanian Club at 6:50 pm. Visit fortpointneighborhood.org on Monday for the complete schedule. Have you met “Molly”? The Boston police are hosting an informational meeting about the drug “Molly”.  Lt. Robert Merner, commander of the drug unit, will present the facts on the popular drug Molly and discuss the misuse of this drug, the details around the recent overdoses, and how the Boston police department is working to target the distributer.  This important meeting will take place on Monday, October 28th at 6:30pm at the Tynan School.

Komen Foundation.  Another bonus? Anything “pink” in the store will be 10% off!  A perfect incentive to shop! 

Light it up! After a period of darkness, the Northern Avenue Bridge will be illuminated on Tuesday, October 29th at 6:15.  Hosted by Mayor Thomas M. Menino and the Boston Department of Public Works, Light Boston, Inc. in collaboration with The Boston Harbor Association and Friends of Fort Point Channel.  Come mix and mingle at Harborwalk – Courthouse Wharf at Northern Avenue and watch the bridge light up!

Trick or treat!  Smell my feet!  Beware of little ghosts and goblins (and their parents) roaming the streets in search for Halloween candy.  East and West Broadway will be filled with trick or treaters on Thursday, October 31st from 4pm-6pm picking up candy from local businesses and residences.  So be warned!  This event is free and is hosted by the members of the South Boston Chamber of Commerce.

Dead Presidents Party?! Put on your Halloween best – costumes strongly encouraged – and stop by Lincoln (425 West Broadway) for their Dead Presidents Party.  Featuring, dead president inspired cocktails, a photo booth to capture the moments, and an overall frightfully good time, Lincoln’s Dead Presidents Party will be on for the history books.  This event is free!??To register as a guest visit: https://deadpresidents.eventbrite.com/
