Be informed.  Get involved.

A special community meeting will be held by the Mass Department of Transportation about the expansion of South Station.  Find out the benefits and how it will impact the residents of South Boston.  The meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 8th at the Courtyard Marriott at 63 R Boston Street.

From MassDOT flyer:

The proposed project would expand the South Station terminal, create a new midday layover facility at Widett Circle and expand the existing Readville site to meet current and future high-speed, intercity, and commuter rail service needs. The project would accommodate improvements to MBTA local and regional service, as well as Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor service. Passenger experience and comfort, economic development, and quality of life will also be improved. The project includes plans to move the USPS building and reopen Dorchester Avenue.
