Light Up Seaport Takes Place on Friday, December 5th

Light Up Seaport Presented by Citizens brings the city together for a magical evening of celebration and holiday entertainment to Boston Seaport. Now in its ninth year, this beloved community tradition kicks off the season with the lighting of Boston’s largest holiday tree, vibrant live performances, and a special appearance by Seaport’s own winter celebrity, Betty the Yeti.
This Friday, December 5, Boston’s largest holiday tree standing at 52 feet tall and adorned with more than 10,000 twinkling lights will light up Seaport Common. The program, hosted by Cheermeisters Ashlee Feldman of JAM’N 94.5 and Herv JeanBaptiste, will feature performances by Boston City SIngers, Hill House The Band, Lourde Childs, The Gracenotes, Bermuda Search Party, and additional surprise acts. The event will also be broadcast live on WBZ-TV CBS Boston starting at 7:00 PM, with a full show featuring live performances, segments highlighting the best of Snowport, and some special guests. WBZ anchors Lisa Hughes and David Wade will join the celebration onstage as well as for viewers at home during the tree lighting ceremony. Following the live broadcast, the full show will be available to watch on the CBS Boston’s YouTube channel and at WBZ.com.
Guests are also invited to visit Betty the Yeti at Betty’s Blizzard Bluff, located in The Superette Courtyard. There, they’ll enjoy cotton candy from Puffy Clouds, music by DJ Brian Halligan, and a wintry setting featuring illuminated evergreens and whimsical décor. Guests who download the Seaport Insider App and link their credit card will become a Seaport VIP and can receive perks across the neighborhood. On the night of Light Up Seaport, Insider VIPs can swipe to redeem a Betty the Yeti beanie.
