See history come alive!  It’s Community History Day at Dorchester Heights, brought to you by the South Boston Historical Society.  This educational event is scheduled from 11am-2pm with a brief opening ceremony  at 11am with students form St. Peter Academy and the Junior ROTC Color Guard from Excel High School.

The day will consist of different stations scattered throughout the Heights with historic re-enactors, sailors from the USS Constitution, a Fife and Drum Corps, and the Boston Poet Laureate, Danielle Legros Georges. Students from area schools, including the Condon, the Perkins, Saint John Paul, Saint John’s School, and the Tynan, among others, will be learning all about the history of our neighborhood and of Boston in the 1700s.

There will also be a Hands On Area where kids can play and learn about being a kid from that time.

CIS’ Anna White – who writes our Southie History pieces will be volunteering!  Make sure to say hello!
