Buckle up, commuters! There’s a giant water main break at South Station.

A water main break near South Station sent water rushing into the streets late Thursday night and is causing traffic headaches Friday morning.
According to the Boston Water and Sewer Commission, the break happened around 11 p.m. at a 16-inch water main near Summer and Purchase streets. Crews responded to the scene, where flooding caused the pavement to buckle in some areas.

Drivers should expect delays and possible detours in the area while crews continue repairs.
This water main break is causing traffic delays throughout the area, including on I-93.
We’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
