Volunteers Wanted
Msgr. Thomas J McDonnell and Frank Kelly Thanksgiving Dinner is looking for volunteers to deliver and serve Thanksgiving dinner at St. Monica’s Church. Volunteers will meet at St. Monica’s at 9am on Thanksgiving. If you are unable to volunteer, they are also accepting donations. Donations can be made in checks payable to South Boston Seaport Collaborative Memo Thanksgiving Dinner 2025. Checks can be dropped off at Deja Brew on East Broadway.
Escape and rejuvenation in South Boston
There’s a brand-new way to warm up in South Boston — and cool down just as fast. Moki, a modern sauna and cold plunge experience, is officially open at 385 Dorchester Ave, bringing a fresh twist on wellness to the neighborhood. Moki combines Nordic-inspired sauna rituals with sleek, minimalist design and a community-minded vibe. Think cedar saunas, icy plunges, outdoor firepits (coming soon), and cozy lounge spaces — all meant to help you reset, recharge, and reconnect. Get all the details here.
Summer Street Wellness popping up in Seaport
Big news, workout lovers! Summer Street Wellness is officially popping up in the Seaport starting November 17th, bringing its signature yoga, Pilates, and barre classes to Wave Health & Fitness inside The Seaport Hotel (1 Seaport Lane). Think of it as Summer Street Wellness… but with a Seaport twist. The space has a different look and feel from the South Boston studio—hello, mirrors—perfect for anyone who loves checking in on their alignment. But don’t worry, it’s still the same instructors, welcoming energy, and feel-good classes that keep you coming back. Classes will start with a light schedule and gradually ramp up over the coming months, so expect more and more opportunities to flow as the winter rolls in. And because this is a bit of an experiment, the team is asking for feedback—what feels good, what feels off, and how to make the space as cozy and Zen as their original Southie home. Use code “Seaport11” in a browser to snag your first class for just $11. You can sign up here!
Mahjong on a Mission at Mei Mei
Looking for a new hobby that connects you to community—and gives back? Mei Mei’s got you covered with Mahjong on a Mission! On the third Sunday of every month from 11am–1pm, Mei Mei hosts a lively Hong Kong–style mahjong meetup that’s all about fun, learning, and local love. Each session donates 50% of ticket sales to a featured neighborhood nonprofit, like November’s sold-out event benefitting Project Bread. Upcoming dates include December 21, January 18, February 15, March 15, and April 19. Perfect for total newbies, beginners, and patient intermediates, the event includes a quick tutorial, game sets, printed guides, and even some free snacks and hot tea to keep the good vibes flowing. Just be warned—if you end up at Elaine’s table (aka MOMM, “Mother of Mei Mei” and Chef Irene), you’ll be calling out every tile in Mandarin before you play it! Food and beverages will be available once the café opens at noon, and all the details—from parking to prep videos—can be found at meimeidumplings.com/cafe. Reserve your spot, these events sell out quickly!
Have a great week ahead!
