Not sure where to start?  This lecture will bring you through the ins and outs of installing a pollinator-friendly garden, container garden, or mini-meadow and some best practices for the most eco-friendly garden possible. North Shore native plant gardener Cheryl Rafuse will tell you all about the bees and butterflies, flowers and shrubs, and the easiest ways to start incorporating keystone species into your gardens and containers no matter the size. Mass. Memories Road Show Seeks South Boston History

The Mass. Memories Road Show is a free event that digitizes family photos and memories shared by the people of Massachusetts and includes them in the online archives at UMass Boston. Everyone who lives, studies, or works in South Boston is invited to share their family stories through up to three personal or family photos. The photos will be copied and returned to their owners at the event. Contributors can also share the story behind the photos on video, receive their own keepsake photo of the event, and receive advice from professional archivists and historians on dating and caring for their family photos.  Get all the details on this unique and exciting program here.

Save the date: Community Meeting on the Future of Excel/South Boston High School

Big changes are coming to Southie, and the Boston Public Schools want to hear from YOU! A community meeting will be held to discuss the upcoming closure of Excel High School and the future of the South Boston High School building. This is an important opportunity for residents, parents, students, and community members to learn more, ask questions, and share their thoughts on what’s next for the space.
