The Sumner Tunnel will be closed from July 5 to Aug. 31 for repairs. The closures are expected to increase congestion to and from the airport, prompting state officials to advise drivers to “leave your car at home” when driving in the area.

Since I was a kid in the 60’s I had always had an uneasy feeling about the Sumner/Callahan tunnels.
More so, when a 3000lb concrete panel dropped onto a family driving through the then new south station tunnel.
Any work under the Boston harbor is a recipe for disaster within the outlined time constraints.,
I believe it would take much longer to address issues with both tunnels.
In Pittsburgh, it’s the bridges that are falling down…with people on them !
Good luck Boston, may God watch over the workers.
