Southie Shop Events

There are two shopping events this week in the neighborhood. Enjoy a Sip + Shop at Publico on Monday from 5-8 featuring Bohdii Boutique, Neatly Nested, the Style Filos and Love Child. Movie night at Moakley Park

The City of Boston Parks + Recreation is hosting a movie night on Tuesday, August 17th at Moakley Park. Onward will be playing at dusk! Bring a blanket or beach chair! The series is sponsored by Bank of America and Xfinity, and hosted by Mayor Kim Janey and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department. Additional support is provided by the Mayor’s Office of Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment and media partner JAM’N 94.5.

Iced coffee + munchkins

Mayor Kim Janey and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department will host the 2021 Neighborhood Coffee Hour Series, in collaboration with Dunkin’, in local parks citywide from July 30 to August 27. She’s coming to M Street Park’s Lee Playground on Wednesday, August 18th from 10:30am-11:30am. It’s a great opportunity to speak directly with the mayor and staff. Participants will enjoy Dunkin’ Iced Coffee and assorted MUNCHKINS® donut hole treats provided by Dunkin’. Fresh fruit will be provided by Star Market. In addition, each family in attendance will receive a free flowering plant provided by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, while supplies last. Residents at the event will also be eligible to win a raffle prize from Dunkin’, including Dunkin’ swag and gift cards! There will be a bouncy house for the kids plus pizza and Richie Slush at 12pm.

The Laboure Center is holding their first time ever limited car raffle for a chance to win a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport or $20,000 cash prize. It’s $100 per ticket and only 1000 tickets will be sold! So not only will you have a chance but you’ll be helping a great local organization that helps out our community. You can your purchase your tickets here! The drawing will be on September 9th (new date). If minimum of 600 tickets is not sold, raffle will revert a 50/50 cash prize raffle.

Feather+Finn Event at Love Child

Grab a friend + come enjoy a cocktail while learning how to pour a candle. Feather + Finn will lead you through the step-by-step process of creating a beautiful 100% soy wax candle to burn in your home at Love Child. The workshop will provide you with materials to pour two 5oz candles, keep one for yourself + gift one!
