Yikes! A sailboat was struck by lightning near Castle Island
Boston fire responded to a call for a boat on fire in the waters off of Castle Island on Friday around 2pm. Two marine units responded to the scene. According to the Boston Globe, rescuers took 9 people off of the sailboat and none of them were hurt. Lightning struck the boat causing fiery conditions from the engine room.
Massport Fire Department also responded to the call.
