What Happened on Dorchester Street Early Saturday Morning?

Residents in South Boston woke up to a concerning scene along Dorchester Street on Saturday morning.
According to a post from John Gately on Twitter, a large blood trail stretched nearly five blocks along Dorchester Street, beginning around Gold Street. Crews were also spotted cleaning the area early Sunday morning. Warning: the amount of blood is disturbing.
BPD responded to the area around 8 am and found Boston EMS transporting a man with a leg injury to a local hospital. Police say the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
