On Thursday, a video appeared in our twitter feed called “We’re Massholes. We’re not Assholes” and immediately we groaned and rolled our eyes. Not another “Southie Housewives” video but naturally we clicked the link and low and behold your stereotypical everyman from the Boston area, sitting at a bar, chatting about saving parking spots and banging a u-ey. Double Groan. But then something unexpected happened.
It was a Yes on question 3 ad! “Yeah, we’re Massholes but we’re not assholes.”
And this video was kind of genius – you can watch it here! Tuesday is election day! Don’t forget to vote!
I am not a fan of this ad for a different reason. To label anyone as an a**hole because they have a different viewpoint on an issue is wrong. Liz Warren says people who view this issue differently than her support hate. Calling people bigots, racists etc. because they don’t line up with your political point of view is getting old. State your case and vote accordingly. Respect the other sides right to have a different opinion.
