Southie girl Barbara Lynch won the James Beard Award for Outstanding Restauranteur on May 5th in New York. Barbara was born and raised in South Boston and got her start in the restaurant biz working the counter at Brigham’s on West Broadway (now Pat’s Trattoria).
She now owns some of the best spots in Boston including Menton, No.9 Park, The Butcher Shop, B&G Oyster, Sportello and Drink. Barbara also won Best Chef Northeast in 2003. This year that title went to Coppa’s Jamie Bissonette.
