Update: Three teens arrested for loaded firearm in South Boston.
Another Investigation Update: At about 5:00 PM, on Thursday, March 7, 2024, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) made an onsite warrant arrest of a 16-year-old juvenile male in the area of 40 W Seventh Street. At the time of the arrest, the suspect was wanted for an arrest warrant issued out of Suffolk County Juvenile Court for armed robbery with a firearm. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident: At about 8:49 PM, on Sunday, February 25, 2024, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to the area of 28 West 7th Street for a report of an armed robbery. Officers were advised that a delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint, and two suspects fled the area towards Delessio Court towards Orton Marotta Way.
Investigation Update: At about 3:59 PM, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to the area of 1 Ellery Street for a report of a discarded firearm.
Earlier this day, officers were involved in a foot chase and arrested a juvenile with a firearm. Officers lost sight of a second suspect, but was later stopped. After further investigation, officers were able to obtain video surveillance that showed the second suspect attempt to conceal a firearm behind a beam. Officers were able to return to the address, and located a Taurus Firearm with one round in the chamber and eight rounds in the magazine.
Officers responded to the address of the second suspect, and placed him into custody.
The 17-year-old juvenile male was placed under arrest and charged with delinquent to wit; unlawful possession of a firearm, delinquent to wit; unlawful possession of ammunition, delinquent to wit; unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, and resisting arrest. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident: At about 10:22 AM, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) arrested a 15-year-old juvenile male on firearm charges.
An officer was on patrol in the area of Dorchester Avenue when he observed two males matching the description of two individuals involved in recent armed robbery incidents. The officer exited his marked cruiser, and approached the individuals.
Once the individuals observed the officer, they immediately fled and a foot pursuit ensued. The officer observed one of the individuals discard a firearm inside Andrew Square T Station. The officer continued the foot pursuit, and apprehended the suspect in the area of Boston Street and Ellery Street. The recovered firearm was later determined to be a Smith and Wesson M&P with one round in the chamber and eight rounds in the magazine.
The 15-year-old juvenile male was placed under arrest and charged with delinquent to wit; unlawful possession of a firearm, and delinquent to wit; unlawful possession of ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
A second juvenile was stopped in the area of Dorchester Avenue and Alger Street, and promptly released from the scene.
