Update: At about 5:15 AM on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit arrested Francisco Romero, 38-years-old, of Chelsea, in the area of 31 Library Street in Chelsea. Romero was arrested by virtue of a straight warrant out of Boston Municipal Court for Aggravated Rape, Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Kidnapping.
The facts and circumstances of the original incident are as follows: At about 2:03 AM, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a sexual assault in the area of 2 Charles Street (Public Garden) in Boston. Upon speaking to the victim, detectives learned that the suspect had encountered the victim in the area of Bromfield Street, where he forcefully brought her through the Boston Common into the Public Garden where he sexually assaulted her.
