Two South Boston Men Arraigned for St. Patrick’s Day Attack

Back in April, BPD issued a community alert seeking the public’s assistance to identify an individual involved in an aggravated assault incident that occurred at approximately 4:41 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2024, in the area of F Street and Tudor Street. Evidently, there was quite a brawl that left three people badly injured.

Universal Hub is reporting that two South Boston men were arraigned on Monday on charges for the above attack.  A third man, the brother of one of the other two, is also facing charges, and BPD is looking for him.

According to the article, John Dunkle, 36, was charged with six counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery, impersonating a police officer and disorderly conduct. Matthew Sullivan was arraigned on two counts of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, impersonating a police officer, and disorderly conduct, the DA’s office reports.

South Boston Municipal Court Judge Margaret Albertson ordered Dunkle held in lieu of $3,000 bail and Sullivan held in lieu of $1500. Both will appear in court in July.  A warrant has been issued for Joseph Dunkle for the incident.

Universal Hub has all the details here.
