So this happened on Thursday afternoon at the Murphy Skating Rink.

SAFER BOSTON: At about 3:10 PM, on Thursday, November 14, 2019, officers assigned to the Boston Police Special Investigations Unit conducted an investigation in a coordinated effort with members of the BPD Youth Violence Strike Force, BPD SWAT Team, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Massachusetts State Police and DEA Task Force 5 which resulted in the arrests of two suspects on gun-related charges and the recovery of several firearms in the area of 1880 William J. Day Boulevard in South Boston.

The officers were aware that the targets of their investigation, Glenn Lacedra, 58, of Revere and Dominick Bailey, 54 of Vershire, Vermont, were transporting weapons from Vermont with the full intention of either selling or trading the weapons within city limits. When the suspects drove into the parking lot of the Murphy Skating Rink, officers stopped their vehicle and removed them from the vehicle. With the suspects outside the car, officers were able to discover and recover several firearms (see photo) including a .223 caliber Palmetto Armory/PA-15 AR-15 rifle, a 9mm Taurus PT92 AF handgun, a .22 caliber Walther P22, a long barrel Thompson Arms Co./Encore pistol and several rounds of ammunition. Both suspects were then placed in custody on scene without incident.

The suspects are scheduled to appear in South Boston District Court on multiple charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (4 Counts), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of an Unlicensed Assault Rifle and Violation of the City of Boston Assault Weapons Act of 1989
