Two females assaulted on Red Line outside Broadway Station
WCVB is reporting that A Dorchester man is accused of indecently assaulting two females on a Red Line train.
Transit police said two females, ages 15 and 18, reported being indecently assaulted while on an MBTA Red Line train just outside Broadway Station at about 7:30 p.m. on October 15th.
Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said that the teenage victims told police that they, along with their mother, got on an outbound Red Line train at Downtown Crossing and that a man placed his hands on their buttocks before exiting the train at Broadway.
The victims gave a detailed description of the man to police. The victims were shown video surveillance footage several days after the incident and identified the man.
On Tuesday around 6pm, a Transit Police Department officer spotted a man outside Downtown Crossing who resembled the man in a person-of-interest poster generated by TPD investigators. That man was later identified as 35-year-old Edgar Alonso, of Dorchester.
According to WCVB, Prosecutors said officers showed Alonso still photos from the video surveillance footage and he admitted to being the person shown in the stills. He was taken into custody.
