At about 2:35 AM on Thursday, November 19, 2020, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for two males stealing tires off of vehicles in the area of 168 W Ninth Street in South Boston. While enroute, officers were provided a description of the suspects and as they arrived on scene, they observed a silver Dodge Caravan occupied by an operator and a passenger who matched the description of the suspects. Officers also made note that the vehicle was operating at an accelerated rate of speed. Officers stopped the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the area of 205 E Street. When the officers approached the vehicle and observed two tire irons, a large drill, and a large amount of blue plastic crates in the rear of the vehicle. All of the rear seats inside of the van were removed except for one. Officers identified both the driver and the passenger.

Additional officers responded to the initial scene where they observed a gray Honda Accord suspended on blue plastic crates with three of the tires removed and a tire jack underneath the vehicle. The driver and the passenger were removed from the vehicle and taken into custody.

Officers arrested the operator, Luis Pabon, 25-years-old, of Lawrence and the passenger, Jaime Rolon Jr., 27-years-old of Lowell. Both are expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court on charges of Larceny of Auto Accessories, Destruction of Property, and Possession of Burglarious Tools.
