INCIDENT #1: At about 1:27 AM on Monday May 4, 2020, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) arrested two male suspects while recovering a loaded firearm during a traffic stop in the area of 8 Allstate Road in South Boston. The officers had stopped a motor vehicle as part of an investigation when they recovered a loaded .380 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun along with two large plastic bags of marijuana and $665.00 in U.S. Currency from inside the vehicle. It was later determined that the firearm had previously been reported stolen in Medford, MA. The officers then arrested both the operator, Nelson Roche-Diaz, 23, of East Boston, and the front seat passenger, Jose Alvarado-Martinez, 23, of Chelsea, without incident on scene. Both suspects will appear in South Boston District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Receiving Stolen Property. Additionally, Alvarado-Martinez will be charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs.
INCIDENT #2: At about 2:41 AM on Monday May 4, 2020, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) made an onsite firearm arrest as a result of a traffic stop in the area of 2400 Washington Street in Roxbury. The officers were on directed patrol in the area of Warren Gardens when they observed a motor vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed with the headlights turned off. Officers were able to stop the vehicle out front of the district station at which time they determined the vehicle was improperly registered with incorrect plates attached. Officers then removed the occupants, at which time they recovered a loaded handgun from inside the vehicle, leading to the arrest of the rear seat passenger, later identified as Jermel Williams, 19, of Roxbury. The suspect will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.
INCIDENT #3: At about 3:10 AM on Monday May 4, 2020, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) made an onsite firearm arrest after performing a traffic stop in the area of 1250 Massachusetts Avenue in Roxbury. The officers had stopped a vehicle as part of an investigation and were speaking to the operator, later identified as Jeff Anilus, 30, of Randolph, when they observed a knife sticking out from his pants pocket. Additionally, the operator repeatedly refused to answer the officer’s questions and failed to identify himself when asked to do so. Officers then removed the suspect and performed a pat frisk which led to the recovery of a loaded .357 Smith & Wesson revolver from inside the vehicle as well as a plastic bag containing crack cocaine from inside the suspect’s sock. The suspect will appear in South Boston District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Possession of Class B Drugs.
