Get Ready For a Fun-filled Summer in Boston

BOSTON – The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) announced today that the Lawn on D is opening for the season on Saturday, June 6th, 2026. The MCCA is making enhancements to the dynamic outdoor space for the local public and in anticipation of an increased number of visitors to Boston during the summer.

The Lawn on D will continue to offer its signature open lawn space, Kaleidoscope installation, and Urban Grove installation. Improvements are being made to the space to offer a fun, affordable outdoor area for guests of all ages to enjoy, built with visitor experience in mind.

“We’re incredibly excited to unveil the new and improved Lawn on D to the community and stakeholders,” said John Barros, Interim Executive Director of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority. “While the lawn will have a new look this summer, what I’m most proud of is that it will be more open and accessible to the public than ever before. We have an exciting lineup of programming, and we can’t wait for you to visit.”

Opening day, June 6th, 2026, kicks off the season with Harpoon’s annual summer event titled Boston Chilling Low Key Music Fest. The event is a one-day outdoor concert experience, designed for anyone who enjoys easygoing vibes, live music, and a cold beverage. The free event runs from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with musical performances kicking off at 3:00 PM.
