Namaste right here in this parking spot…
We understand that saving spots after a snowstorm is a big part of living in Southie in the winter (if you’re following the rules). But saving a parking spot in July is just ballsy.
This summer space saver was spotted on East Fourth Street on Friday morning. Just a simple orange yoga mat and kitchen trash can. Maybe someone was doing a morning vinyasa while pickup up trash from the gutter? Just someone trying to get one over on their neighbors. No parking permit needed from the City to reserve the spot.
Happy Friday!

I would take it right off the street and put in the trash can . And put both on the sidewalk !
“That’s just how we do it in So-Bo…sooooooo……”
I can beat that! My husband went to pull into a spot on Old Harbor Street and noticed a young woman standing in it. She told my husband that she was saving the spot for someone “Sorry” was her non-apology. I wanted to get out of the car to tell her that this is not done but my patient husband just drove off. The fact that we are seniors obviously meant nothing to her.
What an idiot of a woman! That was extremely selfish of her to do what she did. Standing in the middle of a parking space is totally out of line, at any time of year. She should’ve been pointedly told not to do what she did. Hopefully, maybe someday, somebody will tell her off, if she pulls this sort of stunt again.
