Southie’s Own Jake Harrison will play basketball professionally in Portugal

Let’s hear it for Southie native and Western New England University graduate, Jake Harrison! He announced on Tuesday on social media that he has signed to play for a professional team in Portugal!
The 6’5 forward will be playing for Futebol Clube de Gaia – Basquetebol

His career started early in South Boston playing for the legendary Gatey CYO league, then South Boston Catholic Academy, Boston Latin School, and then for the Western New England University Golden Bears, where he was named an All-American member of the D3 basketball team and the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Year in 2023.
Way to go, Jake! You’ve done Southie proud! Congrats to proud mom Jean who’s been Jake’s biggest cheerleader!
