Southie wants My Diner – and they want it bad!

A new online petition is circulating to bring the beloved My Diner to a new location at the corner of I and 8th.

We have to admit we have felt the void of the closing of My Diner – legendary breakfast and lunch hot spot on A Street in Southie.  How many hangovers have we suffered without one of their delicious bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches!

But not everyone is thrilled about the diner reopening at that location.  At a recent abutters meeting, trash, traffic and parking were listed as concerns.  No word yet, if and when My Diner will open at 545 East Eighth Street.

And don’t forget this guy…..

As far as I know NOBODY is against My Diner re-opening in SOUTHIE.,It’s the location,!!!! yesterday I walked down broadway ( both east and west)..Pleanty of EMPTY locations to put a diner..Would the owner of either the property at issue like to have a popular diner (that opens at 6:00 AM) right in his backyard?..I DON’T THINK SO…The NOISE,DOUBLE PARKING, THE SMELL OF GREASE FROM THE GRILL,!! The parking is bad enough in this area to put a diner there will only make a bad situation worse..FIND A LOCATION ON BROADWAY, OR SOMEWHERE IN THE “SEAPORT”..(down by ” A ” street )..,

‘Many People’ would be more appropriate for this headline. With all due respect you/this site does not speak for South Boston.

Bring “My Diner” to Andrew Square ~ a number of potential sites are available, and the neighborhood would be delighted to have a breakfast café!
