When Geoff Applegate pickets, he’s goes above and beyond.  According to Universal Hub, Applegate was spotted in front of the Southie Stop & Shop at 11:50pm on Thursday.  Although the store was closed, Applegate was there in case delivery trucks show up!

Way to go, Geoff! Stick it to the man!

United Food & Commercial Workers Local 1445 members who work at Stop & Shop officially walked off their jobs last week. The strike began after the union and company failed to come to an agreement on their contract and looks like it’s far from ending.

On Thursday, former vice president Joe Biden, along with Mayor Marty Walsh, showed their support and solidarity with the striking workers at the South Bay Stop & Shop. 

We’ve been shopping at other supermarkets including local, family-owned shops like K & 8th Market.  We encourage you to show your support to the Stop & Shop workers by doing the same.  Also give them a wave or beep your car horn when you pass by!
