Bagels and bikes

A community meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 17th at 6pm to discuss the proposed bagel shop going in at L and East Broadway.  The meeting will take place at the location at 753 East Broadway.  Be informed.  Get involved.

After discussions between the Mayor’s Office, Councilor Linehan, BTD and Nicole Freedman from Boston Bikes, the public meeting hosted by Southie Bikes concerning potential bike lanes on West Broadway scheduled for Monday September 16th has been cancelled.  The City has no plan to reschedule a meeting for this proposal at this time.

Here is a statement from Southie Bikes:
It has always been the position of Southie Bikes to listen to the
constructive feedback from the people in the neighborhood. We received
plenty of great ideas for how to make bike lanes work well in Southie,
and we look forward to incorporating those ideas into the design going
forward. There is more work to be done, and given Boston’s rapidly
changing political landscape the meeting will be deferred to a future
date.

Planet Southie, Southie Bikes, Chamber of Commerce, and City Councilor Bill
Linehan have more work to do toward common understanding.

Ride safe everyone!
