South Boston Obituary: Paul J. Fratic

Born on July 19, 1952, in South Boston, Massachusetts, Paul spent most of his life in the community he loved before settling in Plymouth with his beloved wife, Susan Connolly-Fratic.
Paul graduated from Don Bosco Technical High School and later attended Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where he earned his captain’s license. He went on to enjoy a distinguished maritime career, serving for many years as a captain with Boston Line, navigating vessels in Boston Harbor and along the Cape Cod Canal.
A lifelong lover of the sea, Paul found great joy on the water. He was an accomplished sailor who captained several large sailboats throughout his life, including a memorable voyage to Bermuda. Whether working on the water or sailing for pleasure, the ocean was always his home.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Susan Connolly-Fratic; his brother, Rev. Joseph P. Fratic; his sisters, Judith McSweeney and her husband Michael, and Diane Hopkins and her husband Arthur; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Paul will be remembered for his love of the ocean, his warm personality, friendly spirit, and the many friendships he made throughout his life.
Fair winds and following seas, Captain.
