South Boston native meets Pope Leo and invites him to Boston to a Red Sox/White Sox game. “I want to visit Boston!”

Last week, South Boston native Stephen Ryan and his friend Dee Bendel found themselves in Vatican City for a special jubilee audience — and managed to sneak in a very special moment with Pope Leo.
With a homemade sign featuring both the Red Sox and White Sox logos (plus the dates of their upcoming games at Fenway) in hand, Ryan and Bendel caught the attention of Pope Leo, a Chicago native and, naturally, a White Sox fan. Ryan called out and invited His Holiness to come visit Boston — and according to Ryan, the response was pretty clear: “I want to visit Boston!”
The Red Sox face the White Sox at Fenway in August, which begs the question: Is this a sign? A divine hint?
So, what do you say, do we get a campaign going to get Pope Leo to visit our city?
