We’ve come a long way, baby! After decades of controversy about allowing openly gay groups to march in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the South Boston Allied War Veteran Council – the group that organizes the parade, has appointed Bryan Bishop – founder and CEO of OutVets and a Us Air Force Retiree – as the director of parade operation. Back in November of 2017, the AWVC, voted for Southie resident and Army National Guard member – Dave Falvey as the new commander of the AWVC, ushering in a new era of leadership. We couldn’t be more proud of Falvey and the AWVC.
